Ace in the Hole Cider Pub
This looks like a great little spot where some fine acoustic music happens.
This looks like a great little spot where some fine acoustic music happens.
This looks like a fun new place to play. Join me for a casual Sunday afternoon.
Lodi's dowtown market is tonight, so it should be quite happening...
I had such a fun time that I booked another slot. I really enjoyed the crowd.
I'll be opening up a night of three bands in the new Chico Dowtown Plaza. Grab a to-go dinner, and make yourself comfortable for some outdoor entertainment!
Back to Old Arch. Stop by one of my new favorite places for great beer, food, and music.
An extra spot opened up that I'm delighted to fill. See you there.
I'll be playing a short set in a line up of cool Chico bands.
Join me on the patio while we can still enjoy the spring weather.
The Market is back, and i'll be there selling the new album, so stop on by.
It only took me about two years from the time someone suggested this place to me as a possible venue. Good things come to those who wait!
I'll be playing for an educational event in honor of National Crime Victims Awareness Week.
It's turning out to be more of a drink beer and listen to music afternoon. Here's the lineup...
Catlike Reflexes 2:00 - 2:30
Aubrey Debauchery 2:45 - 3:15
Happy/Sad 3:30 - 4:00
Karen Joy Brown 4:15 - 4:45
Boy Tiger 5:00 - 5:30
Chico's annual Celebration of Women event features women from various artistic persuasions from poets to musicians. I'll be playing two songs at 9:05pm after intermission.
I'll be playing a fundraising event for an Elk Grove scholarship program.
OK. Here's the scoop. I'll be opening for Funk Frequency playing from 10-10:30, and then I'll do another 20minutes around 11:30. I think they have $2 pints. Are you a night owl? Come find out......
The market begins again, and i'm back selling my new cd.
The anchor date for the spring tour! I'll be closing it up with the fabulous First St. crowd.
The spring tour is shaping up nicely with this penultimate gig.
Aroma Roasters is a great spot in historic downtown Santa Rosa. I visited there several years ago, and am delighted to be on the calendar now.
This will be a first visit for me. Looks like a very cool place with a steady flow of good music.
Well, it only took about two years or so, but here it is. I'm really hoping to pack the place, so tell everyone you know!
Make sure you stop by to enjoy 1/2 off the wine Monday night special.
Back again since the March 3rd gig turned into a private party....
I'm hooked now. You have to come to this gem in Lodi. Great beer, food, and of course, music by me!
Looking forward to playing for the first time at this wonderful restaurant!
This is a wonderful new restaurant/music venue that you really must come see and taste. You can enjoy coffee, excellent wine or beer and some incredible appetizers at the show. I'm really excited about playing here and looking forward to hosting the CD release party in this groovy location.
Finally, I return to Coco Caffe! I was making copies at Kinko's and the gods deemed it was time. Kat, Dominique, Coral, and I reunited and decided we need another show. More info as it approaches...
I'm so excited to have my roadie crew meet my people at First St. Cafe. Day two of "take your friends to work" weekend.
I like Monsieur Beans so much I'm bringing down three girlfriends from Chico for a raucous roadie weekend. Come join us!
I'll be playing for a Women's Health Specialists event.
I just got a call letting me know that Cafe Flo is not going to be doing evening shows for a time. It's a family run business, and they need to scale back a bit for some sanity. I'll really miss the funky, family atmosphere!
This will be a great little show that's being promoted by Quincy's community radio KHGQ 100.3 fm. I'm featured as their "Musician of the Month" and they'll be playing my CD and talking up the event on air. Drive on up if you can get off work early and enjoy a wonderful dinner and drinks at the Pangaea Pub.
I get to play for a holiday employee appreciation dinner at the Red Tavern.
I'll be there if it's going to be a bright, sunshiney day.
The funny story is that I got this gig because the manager of the store overheard me playing at Bidwell Perk on a cell phone and asked me to book a date!
This is a new spot I found during my bay area week this June. It's a coffee shop in Willow Glen that has started to host some really good music. Come on out you bay area folks and enjoy some coffee and music in a new place that may become one of your favorites!
I'm playing at the "Chillith Fair" as one of many fine women songwriters in our area. Other featured artists include: Boy Tiger, Peech, Carly Ann, Alison Harris, Alli Battaglia, and Regi vs the guitar.
Well, if we're not rained out I'll be on the patio with a sweater.
I'll be playing for the opening celebration of a new Borders in Vacaville. Hopefully the construction will be done....
Another Bidwell Perk patio performance.....as long as the weather holds. It's a peaceful way to spend a Sunday morning coming down.
The idea is that I'm playing the next bunch of Sundays from 9-11am on the patio by the fountain until the weather gets nasty. Stop on by....
Fellow musician David Silva is handing off a few of his Sunday Morning Bidwell Perk gigs to me. I've always meant to play at Bidwell Perk, so I'm happy to fill in. I'll be out on the patio next to the fountain, so grab your favorite newspaper and enjoy a leisurely Sunday Morning with some KJB tunes in the background.
The cafe on the CSU Chico campus in the BMU is hosting a show featuring the artists on one of the News&Reviews Chico Area Music discs. Newmanamiyumi is on at 9pm, I'm at 9:40, Aubrey Debauchery at 10:20, and Alli Battaglia & the Musical Brewing Company will close it up. Move and shake with the Chico cool people and help make it look like I'm popular.....
I'll be back at on of my favorite places to play!
Last one of the season! Thanks to all who came to listen and visit. Be back next year......
Another Borders show in the Sacramento area.
Since I've been playing at the market, I scheduled an in-store performance at Borders.
There's going to be a big outdoor market going on all day, so we'll see if we get any of those visitors upstairs.
I'm heading back to Saratoga to open for Alesandra's show. I'm so glad to be sharing the stage with a lovely friend and musician.
More market dates, I'm happy with that.
Students are coming back, it's the hottest time of the year, what else is there to do but stroll through the market?
Join me on the patio for some good times Chico-style. What else should you be doing on a summer Friday evening after work?
I'll be the featured guest at the open mic. Dave Baldwin was nice enough to invite me after seeing me at the Roseville Borders show. Join me for this Sacrmamento tradition. I think I'll be on around 9pm.
Finally back at Cafe Flo. It's such a cool place that it seems I should start thinking of it as "where I play" in Chico.
Got some extra dates thrown at me. Right on.
My first Friday at First St., and they say it really hops. This gig finishes off my bay area week-long summer tour.
Returning to Orchard Valley for some more of those groovy acoustics. It's a great sounding room in a Chico-like downtown.
I've heard about the Blue Rock Shoot for a long time as a small venue with a great vibe and great music. I'm so excited to have the afternoon to play a leisurely set and soak up the cool atmosphere. I discovered an added bonus when I was told my beautiful and talented friend from high school, Alesandra Valenzuela, will be playing at 4pm! Check out her site: www.alesandravalenzuela.com
Second show of the tour at another highly recommended venue. Right on.
This kicks off my week- long Bay Area tour! It's a little shop across from DeAnza College that hosts some good acoustic music. Join me!
I like to use the farmers market to preview new stuff, so stop by to hear cutting edge KJB material!
Another visit to Elk Grove Park to spread the word about my music in the north state.
This will be my first performance in Redding. The staff seems excited about reinstating live music. Tell anyone you know in the area to stop by....
Introducing myself to the Sacramento area by playing at this Roseville Borders. Books, coffee, music....why not?
Summertime in the city.....
Elk Grove has a farmers market in their park Thursdays from 4-7pm with produce, vendors, and entertainment just like Chico's downtown Thursday Night Market. I'm working on getting into the Sacramento scene so it's a great opportunity to present my music to the area.
I'll be playing outdoors from 11-2pm entertaining participants in the annual walk to benefit cystic fibrosis patients. Look for me in front of CineArts Century Theatres on Olsen Drive.
I've been invited to play a bit for the Chico State Women's Center annual awards for outstanding women on campus and in the community. It's quite an honor!
My Sierra Nevada debut! As one of the winners of Wild Oak Records' songwriter competition I get to play a 20 minute set around 7:20 between singer/songwriters Jon Pardi + Jon Stravatt, Black Chris +Sean, and Bobby Martinez. Two Chico favorite bands, Three Fingers Whiskey and Deer Pen will also play a set. This is the cheapest ticket you'll ever buy for a Sierra Nevada show, so you'll have extra money to spend on a dinner from a special menu and, of course, lots of beer! Come on down and check out Chico's local music talent playing one of the west coast's best venues!
A spot opened up last minute, so I'll be back promoting the Sierra Nevada Taproom show and selling CDs.
Can you believe it's time for the farmers market already? Stop by and say hello while you pick up some produce! Send a friend by to buy a CD....
CANCELLED! Well, it's 10:30am, I'm in Benicia and I think I have to accept the inevitable. The weather forcast says 80% chance of rain, so it seems silly to drive to San Jose and set up only to have it rain on all my equipment! So sorry if you were going to stop by. I'll schedule another one when this nasty spring weather has passed!
Chico State's student run record label hosts a songwriters competition twice a semester. I'll be participating in this one where the audience votes on their favorite as well as some judges. The winner gets to play at a showcase at Sierra Nevada! But it doesn't bother me if I lose, I'm not competitive............
The Brick Coffeehouse has shifted all their music shows to this sister location. I'll be performing along with two other Sacramento singer/songwriters: Robertta Chevrette and Phillip Flathead with each of us performing 40 minute sets. The Gallery was kind enough to invite me!
Moving into the La Salle's Happy Hour scene. We'd love to have you stop by and show them it's a good idea to book us again!
Back for another dreamy evening at Monk's. If you missed the January show, you've got to make it to this one. Something about Monk's inspires fabulous music.
Our first gig at Lassen Steak House falls on Valentine's Day. We'll do our best to create a romantic atmosphere.....
Orchard Valley Coffee is a nice little place situated in the heart of charming downtown Campbell. This is the first stop of our bay area mini-tour. We're testing out what it's like to be on the road by hitting Campbell on Friday and up to Benicia on Saturday.
We're so glad to come back to First St. Cafe. Tell all your bay area friends to reserve this Friday for a relaxing musical evening complete with great food, wine, and atmosphere.
I love Monk's! Looking forward to a lovely evening of inspired music in beautiful surroundings. Give yourself a mid-week treat and hang out with us!
We'll be opening with a 45 minute set for the R E C Band which is local musician Rich Cockcroft's project that performs his original music. Stormy's is next to Monk's Wine Bar on 2nd. St. if you haven't been there before. We'd love to see you, and stay for a bit to hear Amos on rhythm guitar for R E C!
Dinner and Music show at this historic Marysville location. www.thebrickcoffeehouse.com
This is a fundraiser for a highschool youth group going to Mexico to build houses for a Habitat for Humanity-like organization. We'll be playing an hour long set around 6:30, and then another band, Climbing Ivy will be up. If you haven't been to Teaz Me, it would be a great time to sample some of their Asian food menu and wide selection of teas. A percentage of what you buy will go toward the Mexico project. So eat Asian food to help Mexico. It doesn't always make sense, but it's fun.
Award winning guitar/banjo player Sid Lewis's latest project, CrazyGrass is playing Moxie's. The show starts at 7pm, and then Amos and I will take the stage for a three song interlude. We really appreciate the opportunity to share the stage with these Chico legends. Knowing these guys, it's sure to be a high-energy experience, and after playing my few songs I plan to sit back with a beer and enjoy the show. Join me!
